Early Leroy Almon Carving, "The Man Doll"

Early Leroy Almon Carving, "The Man Doll"

Leroy Almon (d. 1997) lived in Ohio and later Tallapoosa, Georgia, where he was born. He is famous for his bas relief carvings, most of which are religious in nature. He was an ordained minister. Almon apprenticed with Elijah Pierce in Ohio in the late 1970s, early 1980s, and this carving might be from that period in that it is unlike his better-known later work. 12 inches square. SOLD
